Tuesday August 6, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta is not happy with the way the Judiciary is handling corruption cases particularly the one facing Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu.
Two weeks ago, Waititu and his wife, Susan Ndungu, were arrested over a Sh 588 million tender and they are out on bail.
Waititu was released on a cash bail of Sh 15 million and Anti-Corruption Magistrate, Lawrence Mugambi, barred him from accessing the Kiambu County offices until the case is heard and determined.
However, Waititu inspected roads in the County on Saturday and later toured Wangige Level 4 Hospital whose construction is funded by the World Bank.
He also visited Kikuyu town and inspected the market that is under construction before proceeding to Tigoni Hospital.
According to impeccable State House sources, Uhuru was angry with the Judiciary for allowing Waititu to roam in the County yet he is a patented thief of public money.
A source said Uhuru was of the view that Waititu should be re-arrested for contempt of court and locked up until his case is heard and determined.
“He was very angry because the Governor represents his home area,” said a source.
