Tuesday, August 06, 2019 - President Uhuru has revealed his little known special connection to Jamaica besides his love for Bob Marley songs.
Speaking during a State visit in Jamaica’s capital city of Kingston, Uhuru revealed that he has family relations in the Caribbean nation.

Uhuru was referring to his elder brother, Muhoho Kenyatta’s mother in law – Norma Kanja - who was a Jamaican married to the late Kenyan businessman, Jimmy Kanja.
The Kanjas are the owners of the Galleria up market shopping mall in Karen.
Uhuru said that his Government was ready to deepen the relations between the two countries through development of policies and programmes.
“And we need to work and see how we can deepen our people to people relations as we also take advantage of our diaspora. One sure way of ensuring that we deepen the partnership between our two countries, is to encourage greater economic partnerships,” he added.
The two leaders signed several bilateral agreements in areas of trade, sports, tourism, and cultural heritage.
They also initiated talks meant to facilitate direct flights from Nairobi to Jamaica and the entire Caribbean.
