Ugandan activist STELLA NYANZI strips in court after she was sentenced to 18 months in jail for insulting MUSEVENI (VIDEO)

Friday, August 02, 2019 - Ugandan activist and feminist scholar, Dr. Stella Nyanzi, was sentenced on Friday to 18 months in jail, for insulting President Museveni.

The former Makerere University lecturer, who has been on remand for nine months, was arrested in November last year on accusations of insulting President Museveni and his mother, through a vulgar Facebook post.

“Facebook post corrupts the minds of young generation and that it doesn’t in anyway communicate any message. It is vulgar. It was offensive,” judge Kamasanyu said in her ruling.

However, she was not availed in court for sentencing over fears that she will cause drama and they opted to read the verdict via video conference.

Still, Nyanzi protested the ruling by stripping and exposing her breast as the magistrate read the verdict.

Below is the poem in which Dr. Nyanzi allegedly insulted Museveni and his mother.
