Thursday August 15, 2019 - Kirinyaga County Governor, Anne Waiguru, has come out to explain why she admires NASA leader, Raila Odinga, despite his advanced age.

Raila, 73, has been in the opposition for almost fifty years and if the history of Kenya was to be re-written, Raila Odinga’s name will feature predominantly because of his involvement in political reforms.

In an interview on KTN's Pointblank show on Wednesday, Waiguru said she admires Raila Odinga because he understands and supports gender equality.

She said Raila has been fighting for the rights of women since he entered the political arena, which makes him admirable.

The Governor further noted that she has interacted with Odinga for some time, adding that he is indeed a good man.

"One thing I have admired about Raila Odinga is his understanding and support for gender equality.”

“He is one leader who is willing to stand with women," Waiguru told the program’s host, Tony Gachoka.

Waiguru also divulged that voters and leaders from the Mt Kenya region are ready to work with the former Prime Minister when President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and final term in power.
