Monday August 5, 2019 – A kin of the late Kibra MP, Ken Okoth, has disclosed that the family wants ODM leader, Raila Odinga, to endorse one of them as the next area MP
Speaking yesterday, Elvis Oluoch, Okoth’s maternal nephew, said that the family was considering sending emissaries to the party leader to endorse Imran Okoth, the former MP’s Personal Assistant and brother.
“We want to appeal to Raila to see if he can give one of the family members that opportunity to take care of the next three years.”
“We have one Imran in mind.”
“He was the Personal Assistant to Ken and was the one taking care of everything when Ken was sick.”
“So we thought he is the right person to do that because he knew every plan Ken had concerning Kibra,” Oluoch stated.
Imran, alongside Westlands MP, Tim Wanyonyi, was in charge of the constituency during the period the deceased was away for treatment.
The two oversaw development projects in the constituency.
Raila will probably have the last say on who succeeds Okoth after Jubilee bowed out of the race.
