Saturday, August 24, 2019-John De-Mathew’s daughter Lucy Wanjiku alias Shiku, paid glowing tribute to her dad during the burial ceremony attended by top politicians including President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
Shiku described her father as a man who put his family first and provided everything they asked for.
“The man lying here was my son. He was my daddy, my smile keeper, my encourager and above all a treasure I kept in my heart," she said in the emotional tribute.
Shiku narrated how she dreamt about her father being involved in a bad accident three days before he died in a tragic accident at Blue Post Thika , leaving mourners in a sombre mood.
"The dream was about an accident and it was about him. Having been in a roundabout and the car caught fire. I never knew it could be real.” The teary girl narrated.
De-Mathew’s daughter said that after the bad dream, she prayed and told her family she was okay but deep down, she was disturbed.
"Daddy wherever you are, you know that I never knew the dream would come true. People say dreams don't come true but this one did," she said and left the mourners in tears.
