Tuesday August 6, 2019 - Experts say that the best way to beat cancer is by detecting it early.
Cancer is a master at mimicking, that is, it might take symptoms of other diseases until it is too late.
This, among several other reasons, is why Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, launched a free cancer screening drive within Nairobi, on Monday.
The Governor took to his social media pages to notify residents within the capital city of the centre where they could access the free service.
"The exercise will run for the whole week at Mama Lucy and Mbagathi Hospitals respectively," Sonko affirmed.
Sonko also assured Nairobi residents living in informal settlements that plans were underway to ensure that they would also be covered under the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).
He made his latest remarks while touring the two hospitals, to confirm their readiness to carry out the initiative.
