Friday August 30, 2019-FORD Kenya Party leader, Moses Wetang'ula, has announced his outfit will field a candidate in the already heated Kibra Constituency by-election contest.
The announcement came barely two days after Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC) party unveiled its candidate who will face off with Raila Odinga's ODM party nominee and other interested contestants.
Wetang'ula, who made his party intentions clear via a Twitter post on Friday, promised to give other outfits a run for their money in the upcoming contest.
He described the candidate he will unveil next week as "young, professional, Kibra-born and grassroots operator" who will carry on with the great work of the late MP, Ken Okoth.
“Ford Kenya, the lion party will be unveiling its candidate in Kibra by-election next week. A dynamic, young, professional, Kibra-born, grassroots operator who will carry on with the dynamic legacy left by Hon Ken Okoth. Watch the space," he said.
While some observers argue Kibra constituency is Raila's stronghold and any candidate who will contest on ODM ticket stands high chances of winning, the recent developments have complicated the race.
