Wednesday August 7, 2019 - Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, skipped a crucial meeting on Monday night which was convened by Energy Principal Secretary, Joseph Njoroge.
The meeting was aimed at discussing development projects in Kiambu County with a special focus on those funded by the Government.
According to reports, the event was attended by a majority of lawmakers from the area, some parastatal heads as well as church leaders.
Speaking to the media, Njoroge disclosed that the meet-up was necessary and discussed challenges that hampered the implementation of the projects in the area.
“We met will all County leaders together with technical officers from ministries implementing various projects to engage on progress, challenges and status of various projects in the county.
“It was a meeting like no other where we had politicians, but there was no politics.”
“It was a meeting that purely focused on service delivery to the people of Kiambu,” he explained.
Among the notable figures who attended the meeting include Waititu's deputy James Nyoro, Thika MP Patrick Wainaina, Wanjiku Kibe (MP, Gatundu North), Moses Kuria (MP, Gatundu South), Gabriel Kago (MP, Githunguri), Jonah Mburu (MP, Lari), Peter Mwathi (MP, Limuru)and Ruiru's Simon Kinga’ara.
