Tuesday, August 06, 2019 - High-flying Kenyan singer, Vivian Wambui, is a classic example of a grass to grace story.

The ‘Chum Cum’ hit-maker has beaten insurmountable odds to make it in the male dominated music industry.

From a ‘Mali Mali’ hawker to the most sought after female musician in Kenya, Vivian, who is currently in the US for a tour of several states, has taken to social media to encourage other female singers yet to breakthrough to keep on fighting.
She wrote:

“Many female acts give up before time! Please kujeni kwa hii kona I need to tell you it’s not yet time to throw in that towel.. Bado masaa.

“Everyone who told you you’re not good enough will watch you living your best life.

“Mimi nilikuwa hawker; I have been physically and sexually taken advantage of by influential men in this business but here I am stronger than I ever thought I could be.

“Still pushing and staying greatful all the while!”
