Friday August 2, 2019 - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's youngest daughter, Winnie Odinga, has weighed in on accusations that late Kibra MP, Ken Okoth, sired a child with a Nairobi politician.
In a post on Thursday, Winnie noted that barely a week since the legislator died some people have "muddied his honour".
"After all the suffering Ken went through the past year with his illness.”
“He came home to REST.”
“He made one last public appearance, said his goodbyes, made peace and left a legacy.”
“In a week since his death they have muddied his honour.”
“This country needs a redemption song," she said.
This came just a few hours after a Nairobi MCA moved to court claiming that the late legislator was the father of her son.
Anita Nthumbi, a nominated MCA, claimed that she sired a child with the late Kibra MP.
She said her attempts to be part of Okoth's funeral arrangements were rebuffed by his family.
Her claims were backed by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko who claimed that Okoth fell in love with the MCA while she was a nurse working in the Sonko Rescue Team.
The MCA has since stopped the cremation of Ken’s body which had been set for tomorrow until the case he lodged in court is heard and determined.
