Friday August 16, 2019 - National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, has dismissed politician Ekuru Aukot's Punguza Mizigo Initiative Bill, saying that it won't solve Kenyans' challenges.
Speaking in Turkana County on Friday during the fifth edition of the Tobung' Lore cultural festival, Raila said that the public is waiting for the report of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Task Force.
“Kenyans are facing many challenges that we know can't be solved through Punguza Mizigo.”
“All we are waiting for is the BBI report so that we can go for a referendum in accordance with our recommendations,” Raila said.
He said BBI will address all problems facing Kenyans such as corruption, elimination of poverty and sorting out the mess at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
However, according to Dr Ekuru Aukot, Punguza Mzigo addresses all problems facing Kenyans and also reduces the wage bill unlike BBI which seeks for an addition of more seats in the Executive.
