Tuesday August 27, 2019-President Uhuru Kenyatta has put on notice corrupt public officials and warned their days for facing the chopping board are near.

In a hard-hitting statement yesterday, Uhuru praised the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over its sustained and impressive work on flushing out the corrupt.

Since the appointment of George Kinoti to head the DCI, Kenyans have been impressed with the swiftness investigations are done and question what the former head, Ndegwa Muhuro, now ambassador, was doing in office.

During Kinoti’s tenure, the high and mighty including cabinet secretaries have been hauled to court and un-rivaled looting at the National Youth Service (NYS) was unearthed.

He warned leaders – both in government and politicians, to stop competing to grab news headlines but rather have dialogue on way forward on solving challenges bedeviling the country.

Uhuru indicated he does not have a monopoly of ideas and welcomes more from other leaders where the best one will carry the day.

“Our fights are harming Kenyans. Let us use our time to serve our nation,” he said. “Let us stop chest-thumping and stealing,” he added.
