Thursday August 29,2019-A section of Nyeri County MCAs have given Kirinyaga Governor , Anne Waiguru , 48 hours to apologise to Nyeri electorate for lying that the county Assembly had rejected  Punguza Mzigo Initiative.

Punguza Mzigo is a popular initiative spearheaded by Third Way Alliance Party leader, Dr Ekuru Aukot, which seeks to reduce positions of MPs from current 416 to 147.

On Wednesday, Waiguru took to Facebook and claimed that the initiative had been rejected by Nyeri MCAs.

"I've said before , Mt. Kenya is fully in support of BBI as evidenced today in Nyeri County where the bill presented by Ekuru Aukot has been rejected by the whole assembly,"Waiguru posted.

But in a fast rejoinder MCAs led by John Kaguchia warned Waiguru against spreading false information to Kenyans.

Kaguchia said since Waiguru is a thief she doesn’t believe in due process and said Nyeri county MCAs will make independent decisions in regards to Punguza Mzigo Initiative.

"She most likely doesn't believe in MCAs, She doesn't believe in due process. MCAs are capable of making their own decisions and they do not need to be interfered with as she did because that was utter interference," Kaguchia told journalists.
