Tuesday August 6, 2019 - The Luo Council of Elders wants the widow of the late Kibra MP, Ken Okoth, to present herself to her maternal home, and apologise to them for cremating the late MP – something that is against the Luo culture and traditions.

Monica Okoth went through with her late husband's final request to have his body cremated, in the event of his death.

However, the intrigues surrounding Okoth's last respects have refused to go away, with the Luo elders making yet another demand.

"We shall need written proof that the cremation was done according to Okoth's wishes.”

“She needs to come here in person and apologise to the people as well," one of the elders stated.

Monica and her late husband's mother, Angelina Ajwang', were engaged in a tussle as to how the late MP would be interred, with the former demanding for cremation as per Okoth's last wishes.

On Monday, elders demanded that Monica presents herself to them, for a ritual termed as Tero Chola or cleansing.
