Tuesday, August 06, 2019 - Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi has officially dropped the name Waiguru following her marriage to city lawyer, Kamotho Waiganjo.

The County boss made the announcement on Tuesday after a journalist sought clarification on how she should be addressed in the wake of her lavish wedding.

In response, the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary said: "You can call me Mumbi, Anne Mumbi, Anne Mumbi Kamotho, minji minji is also fine,"

The Governor has hitherto been identified by the sir name Waiguru, which she acquired from her ex-husband, Tony Waiguru.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Kamotho has a reason to smile after the Supreme Court dismissed a case filed by Narc Kenya party leader, Martha Karua, challenging her election as the Governor of Kirinyaga County.

Following the ruling, which was delivered on Tuesday morning, Anne Mumbi Kamotho will continue serving as the Governor of Kirinyaga County.
