Sunday August 4, 2019 - A brother to the late Kibra MP, Ken Okoth, could not hold back his emotions after missing out on the legislator's final rites.
Speaking to journalists at their home in Kasipul Kabondo, Rashid Omondi expressed disappointment that the MP's body was not airlifted to the village as they had been promised.
"I thought my brother would be brought to Got Rateng' so that the people of Kabondo could see him.”
"It's very disappointing that the program changed abruptly. I have just learnt from the press that he has already been cremated," he explained.
Omondi went on to add that his mother, Angeline Ajwang, was against the move to incinerate her son up to the last minute.
However, Okoth's wife and his two bothers still executed their plans.
"It's a big disappointment to the community around, especially my ailing mother. She could not even gather enough courage to go and see where the cremation was being done."
"If at all Ken was to be brought here for public viewing, there could have been no disruption or wicked plans of forcefully burying him," Omondi remarked.
As he was speaking, his emotions got the best of him and he started crying uncontrollably.
