Tuesday August 6, 2019 - Thirdway Alliance Party chairman, Miruru Waweru, has said the party does not have resources to popularise the Punguza Mzigo Bill.
Addressing journalists on Monday, Waweru said the party is relying on well-wishers to raise Sh 10 million to enable it take the bill to 47 Counties for voting.
He also said that the party has been receiving funds from well-wishers who are happy with the initiative.
“But we have been receiving support from Kenyans and party members, and we have also been raising funds from the public through our paybill.”
“Our partners are ordinary Kenyans and they are increasing in numbers every day,” Waweru said.
On the claim by ODM party lawmakers that Deputy President William Ruto has been bankrolling party operations, Waweru said that he only sees the DP on TV and termed the claim as frivolous.
“He is neither a member of the party and he will never be a member of this party during our lifetime,” he stated.
