Tuesday August 12, 2019 - Former Starehe MP, Maina Kamanda, has paid tribute to ODM leader, Raila Odinga, as 'a genuine man who loves Kenya from the bottom of his heart'.
Speaking on Sunday, Kamanda, a proponent of the handshake, said that the two leaders had brought about stability, adding that they saved the country from ridicule.
“Raila did not arm-twist Uhuru to accommodate him in Government nor did he demand anything that was not out of the love for this nation,” he said.
In reference to DP William Ruto, Kamanda slammed his tactics adding that the money he donates to churches is questionable and he should come open about it.
"This country is being looted left, right and centre with some money finding its way into churches through known people, this trend must stop," Kamanda said.
He said those mentioned in graft scandals should step aside.
“Mr Odinga has been helping President Uhuru Kenyatta to streamline the fight against corruption.”
"People must face justice, all those mentioned in any scam must step aside and let the investigative agencies and the courts to do their work,” asserted the former Starehe MP.
Raila has been trying to win Central Kenya over the last decade but he has lost in all three presidential elections, scoring little from the region.
Last year, Odinga reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta, a move which caught many politicians unaware, leading to a change of tactics in local scenes.
