If UHURU tells us to vote for a dog in 2022, we will vote for it because he is Mt Kenya’s political kingpin – ANN WAIGURU debunks RUTO’s overtures

Thursday August 15, 2019 - Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru, has said that President Uhuru Kenyatta is still the de facto leader of Mt Kenya region despite claims that his relevance is fading.

Since the March 9th, 2018 handshake, Uhuru has faced a rebellion from his backyard, forcing him to at times hit back.

Last month, Uhuru was forced to cancel his tour of Mt Kenya region after the National Intelligence Service (NIS) warned him of a fierce rebellion that may erupt into chaos when he visits the region.

But in an interview with KTN’s Point Blank on Wednesday evening, Waiguru said those are useless rumours and Uhuru is still the region’s political kingpin.

“If you go to our region, people are talking and assessing.”

“President Kenyatta will lead us in making a decision as Mt Kenya on how the political formation will look like,” Waiguru said.

“Whether it is Raila or someone else, the presidential candidates must to know Mt Kenya needs representation at the top.

“At the moment, it would be preemptive.”

“We are open and are uniting,” Waiguru added.
