Here is the “special request” UHURU made following the death of Kikuyu musician, JOHN DE MATHEW! The President loved this man and wants to attend burial

Wednesday August 21, 2019 - The family of late Kikuyu benga musician, John Demathew, has announced that the late musician will be laid to rest at his Gatanga home, Muranga County, on Saturday August 24th.

Making the announcement on Wednesday, family spokesman and Demathew’s close friend, Peter Kigia, said the family arrived at the decision to bury the deceased on Saturday after President Uhuru Kenyatta made that special request.

In a phone call to Kigia, Uhuru asked the family to schedule the singer’s burial for this Saturday.

The Head of State asked that the burial date be pushed backward so as to allow him to attend the ceremony.

The President made this request noting that he is set to travel outside the country next week.
“As artistes, we wanted the burial to be set for next week, but President Uhuru requested us to move it closer as he would love to grace the event.”

“It was a humble request and we felt the need to honour it.” Kigia said.

Demathew, who is among the most popular singers in Kikuyu land, died on Sunday in a car accident along Thika Road near Blue Post Hotel, Thika.
