Monday August 26, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta sent a tough warning to public officers who are engaging on acts of corruption and evading tax.

Speaking on Monday during the flagging off of Kenya’s first shipment of crude oil at the Kipevu Oil Terminal in Mombasa, Uhuru said anyone involved in graft should be ready to carry their own cross when the State machinery led by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions goes after them.

“These guys have decided it is do or die.”

“When they catch up with you, just know I don’t give instructions to them.”

“It is you who has been caught on the wrong.”

“We will only read it on the newspapers that you have been nabbed.”

“So wherever you are, keep your eyes open and be very careful with what you do,” said Kenyatta.

Uhuru made these remarks even after details emerged that four Cabinet Ministers are on DCI’s radar for demanding kickbacks worth billions of shillings from Chinese companies working in Kenya

The four CSs include James Macharia (Transport), Najib Balala (Tourism), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture) and Charles Keter (Energy).

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director, Daniel Manduku, is also a person of interest according to impeccable sources and it is just a matter of time before he is arrested and sent to Kamiti Maximum Prison for many years.

Manduku has been stealing billions with the help of Macharia.
