Monday August 12, 2019 - Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, is permanently going home for good if what Kiambu MCAs are planning is anything to go by.
On Sunday, Ruiru MCA, Elijah Njoroge, said the MCAs have prepared a bill to impeach the Governor who is out on bail after he was arrested and charged over a Sh 588 million corruption case.
Addressing journalists, Njoroge revealed that the motion has the backing of 99 percent of the MCAs and it will tabled in the County Assembly this week.
"The motion is now 95% ready. We must prepare it properly because we do not want to come up with something that will hit a brick wall," Njoroge said.
The MCA explained once the motion is 100% ready, they will be going to the residents of Kiambu County to collect signatures and views from across the 12 sub-counties in the region.
"If the people say he (Governor Waititu) must go...then we will proceed (with impeachment). We will collect signatures from the residents and get support MCAs to take the motion to Parliament," Njoroge said.
