Thursday, August 08, 2019 - There was drama at Homa Bay County Assembly after an uncouth MCA unleashed a smelly fart in the chambers forcing his colleagues to scamper for fresh air.

Proceedings were suspended temporarily to allow the pungent smell to dissipate.

The Speaker’s attention was drawn to a group of male MCAs who were engaged in a heated argument while pointing fingers at each other.

When the speaker tried to admonish them, Central Karachuonyo MCA, Julius Gaya, stood and decided to let the cat out of the bag.

“Honorable speaker, one of us has polluted the air and I know who it is,” he said.

He went ahead to point fingers at one of his colleague for farting in the chamber

“I am not the one. I cannot do such a thing in front of my colleagues,” the accused MCA defended himself.

That is when the Speaker ordered the Assembly’s sergeants to quickly bring in air fresheners.

“Let the sergeant spray the air with fresheners to make it pleasant.”

“Get whatever flavor you will find in any office, whether it’s vanilla or strawberry.”

“We cannot continue sitting in an environment that smells bad,” the Speaker ordered.
