Tuesday August 27, 2019-Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka shocked Kisii residents after he openly confessed he would embezzle part of county monetary allocation if elected governor in 2022.
Speaking exclusively in Abagusii dialect, the ODM legislator also asked locals to give wrong information about their wealth during the 2019 national population and housing census.
"Census is coming make sure you register, but when they ask you how many cows you have tell them you have none, and when they ask you the number of children just say the exact number. Husbands give the exact number of your wives, don't lie. Give them the details so that they know we are very poor so that we receive more county allocations," he said.
However, Onyonka noted population increase and lying about material possessions to census officials and was the surest way to expand their allocations to about KSh 15 billion by 2022.
"When population increases the money will also be increased to maybe KSh 15 billion. That is the money I want when I become the governor so that I give KSh 1 billion to each of our nine constituencies, I give KSh 2 billion to the elderly, KSh 2 billion for women, KSh 1 billion for youth and I take the other KSh 1 billion. Let’s not lie to one another, when a goat is killed its blood must spill over to the person killing it," he added.
