Monday August 26, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta declared on Monday that he will not answer phone calls from various leaders calling him after being arrested by investigative agencies over corruption and other crime related activities.
Speaking after flagging off the first-ever oil shipment at the Kipevu Oil Terminal, Mombasa, Uhuru claimed that he was not ready to compromise himself to salvage leaders who find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
The father of the nation also insisted that since he doesn’t instruct any leader to go against the law, they should not seek help from him once apprehended.
Moreover, Uhuru noted that both DCI George Kinoti and DPP Noordin Haji are more determined to bring down corrupt individuals.
“Mimi sijatuma mtu…ni wewe umepatikana ukifanya mambo yako; hawa watu hawachezi na hawacheki…hizo simu mlikuwa mnapiga kitambo msaidiwe zimezimwa!”
“(I have not sent anybody… It is you who have been found doing your own things; These people neither laugh nor play… those phone calls you used to make for help are no longer available),” Uhuru said.
Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, and Keroche Breweries CEO, Tabitha Karanja, were among individuals who tried to contact the Head of State when they were arrested over corruption and other crime related activities.
