Monday August 5, 2019 - Thirdway Alliance party leader, Dr Ekuru Aukot, now wants former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, to explain the whereabouts of the monies fundraised by Kenyans in the run-up to the October 26th, 2017, presidential rerun.
The two, who were running as a presidential candidate and running-mate, asked Kenyans to fund their repeat election campaigns after successfully petitioning President Uhuru Kenyatta's August 8th win.
Speaking on Sunday at K24, Aukot stressed on the need for Kenyans to be told about how their money was spent, considering that the two boycotted the very same presidential rerun on grounds that the outcome was predetermined.
This is after the two vehemently opposed his ongoing Punguza Mizigo constitutional amendment push that is being funded by some Jubilee Party members, terming it as "cheap and simplistic".
"That is a cheap and simplistic argument. @skmusyoka Musyoka and @RailaOdinga Odinga must account how they spent the money they collected from the public given that they didn't participate in the repeat election," Aukot said.
Aukot further took jabs at the two and their colleagues at the top of the political group of riding on ignorance among their supporters to retain their political footing.
He claimed that the group has proved to be void of leadership ideas.
"The leading elites in Kenya, you don't have a monopoly of ideas. You have used people and thrived on their ignorance," he added.
