Monday August 12, 2019-2022 game is over and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga may just become the 5th President of Kenya after Uhuru Kenyatta.
This is after it emerged that he has been secretly meeting NASA principals over impending referendum and 2022 polls.
After 2017 polls, Isaac Ruto quit the coalition and took a back seat with the other principals also going mum over Raila's future after losing polls.
The handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga seemingly caught Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka unaware, causing cracks.
But an ODM MP who spoke in confidence, says the four leaders have been meeting secretly to strategize of the 2022 game plan and reviving their bromance.
“They meet regularly, that I can tell you. I believe they are re-strategising for a possible referendum and political duels ahead,” said the MP.
During the funeral for Dr. Joyce Laboso and Ken Okoth few days ago, the four leaders shared podium, reviving their comradae that had seemingly faded.
Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi said the hiccups in the alliance were only short-lived.
Osotsi said that all the top leaders in the alliance were in support of the handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
“The alliance is as strong as ever and we believe that we can now move forward together,” said Osotsi.
Malala said Raila had played a pivotal role in bringing the leaders together.
“We are now almost where we were before, under a united leadership. We support Raila’s handshake and the reform agenda, we can now move forward as a coalition,” said Malala.
