Shock as DCI KINOTI now goes after all members of Tanga-Tanga team that supports RUTO only a day after ITUMBI’s arrest-The DP is now finished

Thursday July 4, 2019-After the arrest of Deputy President William Ruto’s blogger, Denis Itumbi, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have now turned to Tanga-Tanga team in their investigations over Deputy President William Ruto’s assassination claim.

Over 256 members of WhatsApp group under Tanga-Tanga that is linked to Ruto are under probe by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Dennis Itumbi, secretary digital, innovations and diaspora communications in the office of the President who was arrested by Flying Squad officers yesterday is among the group's members.

However, arguing during hearing of a miscellaneous application by police seeking extended suspect's detention, Itumbi's lawyer, Katwa Kigen, said the prosecution did not allege his client created the group neither was he an administrator.

The investigation team indicated in court documents they were in process of summoning all members with view to establishing origin of a controversial letter which first made the allegations.

"The group includes MPs- National Assembly, Senate, Governors and many other persons (significant and substantial than our client). The question is? To what extend that a mere public servant can influence the influential persons in the group? posed Kigen.

The defense team almost got into trouble with the prosecutors by sensationally claiming the probe was political and had the blessings of anti-Ruto's Kieleweke camp.

"These investigations are aimed at containing one arm of a political divide- aid one side against the other. From public knowledge the investigations are hinged on Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke political factions. Investigators belong to Kieleweke. Don’t allow to be dragged into these political divisions," he cautioned.
