Thursday July 4, 2019 – Tanzania’s Government has confirmed that President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, will tour Tanzania over the weekend where they will visit the rural home of Tanzanian strongman, John Pombe Magufuli.
A statement issued by Tanzania’s Government on Thursday announced that President Kenyatta will fly to the North Western region of Tanzania on Friday morning to visit President Magufuli on a personal visit that will last two days.
Kenyatta will arrive in Chato at around 10 am and proceed to Magufuli's rural home in the area, where they will hold talks.
Raila Odinga, who is a close friend of Magufuli, will accompany the Head of State and the three leaders will talk about Kenya’s relations with Tanzania.
Last week, Tanzania protested utterances by Starehe MP, Charles Njagua alias Jaguar, threatening Tanzanian nationals working in Kenya.
Members of Parliament in Kenya, led by National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale, also protested the Tanzanian Government's reluctance to issue work permits to Kenyan professionals.
