Wednesday July 10, 2019-ODM leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday visited the family of the late football legend Joe Kadenge in South B, Nairobi. 

During the visit, Raila was accompanied by different leaders. He eulogized the deceased as a great man who left behind an unforgettable legacy. 

He noted that Kadenge's death is not only a blow to the immediate family members but also the entire nation. 

According to AU representative, Kenya will remember Kadenge for the contribution he made during his active years in the field of sports.

He further promised to stand with the family during this moment of trial.

 “Spent time with the family of the late Joe Kadenge at his residence in South B. We have lost a great ambassador for the country and Kenyan soccer. May the Lord grant them comfort at this difficult moment and may his soul Rest in Peace,” he said.

The visit comes a day after Deputy President William Ruto also visited the family of the deceased.

The funeral committee has revealed that is will need Sh5 million to give him a befitting send-off.

Kadenge died at the age of 84 at the Meridian Hospital in Nairobi.
