Monday July 1, 2019-Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has advised President Uhuru Kenyatta to reshuffle his Cabinet.

This comes after Deputy President William Ruto accused four Cabinet Secretaries of plotting to assassinate him.

Speaking on Saturday during the burial of veteran trade unionist Charles Natili in Webuye West Constituency, Atwoli said that the claims by the DP are serious, adding that there is a need for President Uhuru to take action before it is too late.

He argued that the claims that someone wants to end the life of the second most powerful person in the country need to be taken with the seriousness they deserve.

“It is my humble submission that the President acts on his Cabinet because the claims made by his deputy are serious. As things stand, there is a lot of mistrust among the secretaries that is not good for the government,” he said.

The COTU boss further said it will be difficult for Uhuru to assume all is well when his deputy doesn’t trust some of the Cabinet Secretaries, adding that he will have a rough time delivering on his promises if he does nothing to address the issue.
