Wednesday July 24, 2019-A vocal lieutenant of Deputy President William Ruto has apologised to Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju, saying his anti-Luo slur was a slip of the tongue.

Speaking at his constituency last week, Sirisia MP, John Waluke described Luo people as “troublesome community”.

The MP made the remarks at the backdrop of sustained attacks by Ruto's allies against Tuju over reports that the Secretary-General was working for Raila as a political strategist.

Now in a press briefing at Parliament Buildings on Tuesday, Waluke who is a close associate of Ruto apologised to Raila , Tuju and entire members of the Luo community saying he will never utter those words again.

“I want to apologise to the Luo community. I never meant what I said. It was a slip of the tongue and I am sorry. I want to apologize to Tuju and Raila,” Waluke said.

The MP further said he was ready to personally apologise to the two leaders, stating that he will call them and “if they pick my calls, I will apologise”.
