Friday July 26, 2019 - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint former Gatanga MP, Peter Kenneth, to Government as soon as possible.
Speaking during the burial of Kenneth’s mother, Rahab Wambui, Raila heaped praises on his former competitor in the 2013 General Elections saying he is smart and very organized and deserves a job in Government.
Raila asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to appoint Kenneth, adding that he had shown unmatched leadership integrity in past ventures.
"I know it's painful to lose a mother.”
“I can remember the date and time my mother passed on when I was in detention.”
“We thank her for giving us Peter Kenneth.”
“He is someone whose integrity is above reproach and his committed.”
“He is very smart.”
“Mr President, this is someone who needs to be given "something to do". He worked in banking sector," he told Uhuru.
Also in attendance was Deputy President William Ruto, who used the opportunity to preach against politics of ethnicity.
