Saturday July 20, 2019-National Super Alliance (NASA) party leader, Raila Odinga has said the country will not go into an election in 2022 without comprehensive reforms in the country’s electoral system.

In 2017, Mr Odinga championed for reforms in IEBC but was still not convinced with the performance by Wafula Chebukati led team which he defeated in Supreme Court presidential petition.

Speaking at his Opoda farm in Siaya County on Friday, Raila said he's hopeful that recommendations by Building Bridges Initiative will be implemented.

According to Raila the country cannot afford to go to elections without proper reforms, adding that the dream of Kenya can be achieved by looking at National Anthem.

“I know there are many people against the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) because it has a number of issues to be addressed, including electoral reforms. The Kenyan dream can only be achieved by looking at what our national anthem says,” Raila said.

The former Premier said the country was on the right path to unity, inclusivity and peace through his deal with President Kenyatta.

However, Raila Odinga refused to comment about Punguza Mzigo initiative that is being pushed by ThirdWay Alliance party leader, Dr Ekuru Aukot.
