Thursday July 25, 2019 - Siaya Senator, James Orengo, has insinuated that Deputy President William Ruto is bound to win even if President Uhuru Kenyatta fails in his leadership.
Speaking while appearing on KTN's Point Blank, Orengo revealed that Ruto had nothing to lose whichever turn Uhuru's legacy takes.
The renowned lawyer further explained that it was only Uhuru who would be held accountable in the books of history and not his deputy.
“In writing history, they will talk about Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure.”
“Ruto will not feature,” he explained.
He further blasted the DP for derailing President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy by constantly campaigning ahead of 2022.
He revealed that the Jubilee Government was operating in a disjointed mode where the DP was concentrating on campaigns while the Cabinet was divided and the Judiciary was neglected.
“The Government has become dysfunctional.”
“It is at cross-purposes.”
“The DP has made his ambitions of 2022 presidency clear, which is making it hard for him to serve the President.”
“Cabinet is dysfunctional.”
“They are throwing stones at each other.”
“The current one cannot work together to achieve the Government’s agenda,” he continued.
He cited the DP's views in the ongoing Arror and Kimwarer dams’ investigations and claimed that they were diversionary.
“Ruto should not be speaking from the sidelines because he is in Government.”
“If I were Ruto, I would do the honourable thing by resigning," he offered.
