OFFICIAL: HENRY ROTICH and KAMAU THUGGE are going home if arraigned in court tomorrow – see what UHURU said

Monday July 22, 2019-Embattled Treasury CS, Henry Rotich and his PS Kamau Thugge will go home if arraigned in court tomorrow going by the circular issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta early this year.

In the circular sent to all ministries and departmental heads, Uhuru said any public officer who will be arraigned in court will be sent home to allow investigators complete their work.

On Monday morning Rotich and Thugge were arrested by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers over misappropriation of Sh 21 bullion during the construction of Arror and Kimwarer dams in Elgeyo Marakwet.

According to Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, Thugge and Rotich ignored procurement procedures when paying contractors of the Arror and Kimwarer dams.

The news now means that Rotich's stint at the Treasury could be over along with Thugge's, should the two take plea in court according to President Kenyatta.

The two and other 25 officials will be arraigned in court tomorrow to answer different charges of embezzling public money.
