Thursday July 11, 2019 - An outspoken Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP has been arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives for stealing Sh 68 million with former Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Odhiambo Kidero.
Nyakach MP, Aduma Owuor, was the former Acting Director, Legal Affairs, at City Hall during the alleged irregular payment.
He was arrested in Kisumu and is expected to be transferred to Nairobi for further interrogation pending arraignment.
The lawmaker was apprehended while having lunch at Gor Mahia Hotel in Kondele, Kisumu.
National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, is said to have approved his arrest on Wednesday after President Uhuru Kenyatta briefed him over his man’s impeding arrest.
Last September, Dr Kidero was arrested in a similar manner and charged with conspiracy to commit an offence that allegedly led to the loss of Sh 68 million.
Raila is also said to have approved Kidero’s incarceration.
