Saturday July 6, 2019-A legislator allied to Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to continue drumming up support for him despite being warned by President Uhuru Kenyatta to desist from early campaigns.
While speaking at a function in Chwele, Bungoma Constituency, Sirisa MP John Waluke stated that no one can stop them from politicking since it's their work.
He warned President Uhuru Kenyatta to leave them alone to continue campaigning for Ruto because it is their job to do politics.
"We can't forget about 2022. No one can stop us from politicking, we don't sell mandazis, we don't sell charcoal, neither are we teachers who educate pupils in schools.”
"Our work is politics and we must campaign for Ruto for the 2022 presidency. No one will stop us, not even the President," he asserted.
His remarks came in the wake of a warning by President Uhuru against politicians who were engaging in early campaigns and it just a question of wait and see how the President would react to Waluke’s defiance.
