Naivas Supermarket ‘busted’ selling meat laced with dangerous chemicals after Red Alert expose (LOOK)

Thursday, July 18, 2019- Days after NTV’s Dennis Okari did an expose dubbed, Red Alert, showing how supermarkets use dangerous chemicals to keep their meat fresh for longer, Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua, has ordered Naivas Supermarket to close all meat sections in its three branches in the county.

Following the shocking revelations, Governor Mutua and his team collected samples from Naivas Supermarket at Gateway Mall in Mavoko was found laced with ‘illegal and harmful chemicals’.

Consequently, Mutua has ordered the retail chain store to close three of its branches in Machakos claiming they get their meat from the same supplier.

Taking to twitter, Mutua wrote:  “I have been given a laboratory report showing that a sample of meat sold at the Naivas Supermarket at Gateway Mall in Mavoko, Machakos County, had 3,286 milligrams of an additive that should not be used in meat,”

 “I direct my officers in collaboration with national government officers to move with speed to all supermarkets in Machakos County for investigations and advisory to the public,” Dr Mutua added.
