Thursday July 18, 2019 - Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, has set the record straight on claims that he owns a chopper, saying that he owns none at all.

A couple of months ago, Kuria joked about lending Deputy President William Ruto a chopper while in a function in Muranga County.

But speaking on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday night, the MP said that whatever he said at the function was purely a joke, confirming that he doesn't own any chopper.

"No I don't own a chopper, that was a joke," Kuria told the programme host Tony Muiruri Gachoka.

He said that he was only trying to lightly explain that he saved the DP, who was running late, to attend the function in time.

"I was trying to explain why the Deputy President was late for some function and I said that he was almost missing the event and I gave him the chopper. It was just a joke," he added.

The controversial lawmaker faulted Kenyans for taking his jokes seriously and translating his remarks to mean that he really owns an aircraft.

"Why we have got so many lifestyle diseases in this country is because people are taking life so seriously. What's wrong with a joke here and there? There is nothing wrong with it," said Kuria.
