MIGUNA predicts the next permanent Safaricom CEO following the demise of COLLYMORE and temporary appointment of JOSEPH - Could he be right?

Tuesday, July 02, 2019 - With the demise of Bob Collymore, speculation is rife on who will fill the huge shoes he has left behind at Safaricom.

While former CEO, Michael Joseph, has been appointed on acting capacity, the biggest telco in East and Central Africa will soon name Collymore’s successor.

Outspoken lawyer, Miguna Miguna, has sensationally claimed that the next Safaricom CEO will be a Kenyan and specifically from the Kikuyu community.

The controversial Canadian based lawyer cited instances where members of the Kikuyu Community are heading powerful parastatals in the country.

From the current Safaricom chairman, Nicholas Ng’ang’a to Registrar of political parties  Ann Ndiritu to Central Bank of Kenya governor, Patrick Njoroge to Kenya Revenue Authority Commissioner General, James Githii Mburu, Miguna reckons Safaricom is the next mafia CARTEL DEN’

Bob Collymore’s term in office was to come to an end in August 2018 when he was expected to step down but his contract was extended for one more year due to in-fighting and Government interference on his preferred successor.

However, Safaricom chairman, Nicholas Ng’ang’a , speaking on Monday morning, said that the board is clear on the succession question and maintained that the company had no power vacuum after the demise of its CEO.

“Although the details of his (the late Collymore’s) condition were not always public, the board of directors was aware of the need to have a plan of succession in place, and we shall be giving the way forward in the next 24 hours,” said Mr Ng’ang’a at the briefing.
