Thursday July 4, 2019-Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe was among the first people to visit State House Digital Communication Director Dennis Itumbi on Wednesday at Muthaiga Police Station.

Itumbi was arrested by Flying Squad officers on Wednesday for authoring a letter that linked four ministers to an alleged assassination plot of Deputy President William Ruto.

Maribe, who is facing murder charges, visited Itumbi at the station before taking photos. The two are seen smiling in the company of friends.

Throughout Maribe's incarceration over the death of Monica Kimani, Itumbi was one of few senior Government officials who visited her in various holding cells and Lang'ata prison as well as wrote her poems in remembrance of their old good days.

Maribe was arrested together with her lover Joseph Irungu, popularly known as Jowie, for the murder of Ms Kimani.

Early in the week, Itumbi seemed to distance himself from the letter maintaining his innocence.

He accused a local paper of linking DP Ruto's communication officers to the fake letter.

“Journalism is at its lowest form, when Daily Nation pens a story and reproduces allegation after allegation - but does not bother to call or text any of the communication officers in the Presidency they claim are being sought by DCI_Kenya and are in hiding. Objective verification,” he posted on Twitter.
