Thursday July 4, 2019 - London police have revealed the identity of a man whose body fell from a Kenya Airways plane on Sunday minutes before landing at the Heathrow Airport.
The body fell in a garden at Borough of Lambeth, South London.
According to police, the man is believed to be a worker at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
Police think that the man fell from the landing gear compartment of the plane – where a bag, water and some food were found when it landed.
The discovery of the stowaway who started his journey from JKIA has raised questions about the effectiveness of security checks at East Africa’s busiest airport.
Addressing a Press Conference on Monday, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) noted that investigators were using the deceased’s fingerprints to identify the body in the incident.
Additionally, investigators are reviewing all CCTV coverage on flight KQ100 over the 24 hour period before its departure.
The authority is also investigating all staff who came into contact with the plane before it left for London.
