Thursday July 25, 2019-Former Nominated Senator, Paul Njoroge Ben, on Wednesday, tendered his resignation from his political party, KANU.

In a resignation letter written to the registrar of political parties, Njoroge stated that he will be leaving KANU for AU envoy Raila Odinga's party, ODM.

"In exercise of my constitution and legal rights to belong to a political party of my choice and guided by the law, I wish to resign as a member of any other political party," wrote Njoroge.

"I now join Orange Democratic Movement as my new political party," he concluded.

The controversial Njoroge, from Nakuru County, was initially nominated to represent persons with disabilities.

However, in December 2016, the nominated senator officially defected from Jubilee Party to KANU, led by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

He cited lack of democracy and transparency as the reason for him returning back to his former party.
