Friday July 26, 2019 - Former Kenya Valley Development Authority (KVDA) director, David Kimosop, was apprehended at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday morning.
Security officers laid in wait at the international airport, for the suspect implicated in the Ksh63 billion Arror-Kimwarer dam saga.
According to reports, Kimosop was arrested just as he cleared the airport’s security check on his way back from DR Congo.
He was then whisked away to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road.
The 55-year-old joined KVDA in 2012 and was tasked with initiating key projects in the arid basin that covers Baringo, Turkana, West Pokot, Elgeyo-Marakwet and Samburu Counties.
Before joining KVDA, the University of Nairobi alumnus worked in the Internal Audit Department at KCB, steadily climbing up the ladder to head it.
On Tuesday, his alleged co-conspirators, former National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich, and his Principal Secretary, Kamau Thugge, denied abuse of office, neglect of duty among other charges laid against them, in connection to the dams’ saga and were released on a Sh15 million cash bail.
