Disgraced journalist JACQUE MARIBE quits CITIZEN TV as her murder case gets underway(DETAILS)

Saturday, July 06, 2019-Disgraced television presenter Jacque Maribe has quit Citizen TV.

According to a reliable source, Ms Maribe handed in her resignation letter this week citing ‘personal reasons’

The mother of one and her fiancé Jowie Irungu are the main suspects in the murder of businesswoman, Monica Kimani.

Maribe was arrested and later released on a cash bail of Sh 1 million while her partner in crime, Jowie Irungu was denied bail and has been languishing at Kamiti Maximum prison since.

Her employer, Royal Media Services, stood by her side despite the negative publicity and baggage she is carrying by moving her from her position as a news anchor to an editor after court barred her from reading news or interviewing anybody until her case is closed.

However, it appears senior managers at the SK Macharia owned media house are not happy with Maribe’s bold public appearances in court to support State House blogger Dennis Itumbi, who was arrested over links to a fake letter on a plot to assassinate DP Ruto.

Sources indicate that Maribe was warned that her continued support of Itumbi was bringing Citizen TV into disrepute.

Maribe was among Itumbi’s friends who were partying inside a Muthaiga cell where Itumbi is detained leading to the interdiction of Muthaiga OCS.

That is when she opted to resign citing personal reasons.

She started her journalism career at K24 TV in 2009 after graduating from the University of Nairobi.

She joined Citizen TV in 2012 and worked as Political affairs reporter until her fall from grace.
