Tuesday July 16, 2019-Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya over the weekend took a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto and his Tanga-Tanga team for engaging in early 2022 campaigns against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive.

Speaking on Sunday, Munya warned that it was wrong for Ruto and his team to plunge the country into political mood when the elections are still far away.

“As leaders, we must first work for the people for the remaining three years in order to prove our worth in 2022,” stated Munya, who nowadays don’t see eye-to-eye with Ruto who accused him of planning to assassinate him before 2022.

According to the CS, leaders’ development record and not politics would determine their fate in the coming elections.

At the same time, Munya supported the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, saying the pact has brought peace and tranquility in the country.

The CS also supported a referendum to change the governance structure in the country.
