Friday July 5, 2019 - Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung'wah, said on Thursday that he is ready to die for what he believes in.

He was making this comment with regard to the alleged assassination of Deputy President William Ruto.

The MP narrated that he had severally received death threats for the sole reason of supporting the Deputy President.

"But we are ready to die for what we believe in because long are the days where people would be coerced and intimidated," he declared.

Ichung'wah was speaking to journalists after the Digital Innovations and Diaspora Communications Secretary, Dennis Itumbi's arraignment, where he was detained for five more days.
The MP said that he wanted the DCI to get to the bottom of the matter, noting that there were a lot of sideshows in the way the case was being handled.

"What we are seeing today are side shows to destruct and divert the nation from the issue of the assassination of Deputy President William Ruto," he highlighted.

"What is on trial is not Dennis Itumbi but 2022 succession politics.”

“It has become a norm to criminalise anyone who is seen to be associated with the Deputy President William Ruto," he continued.
