Tuesday June 18, 2019 - Kericho Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, is the latest leader to react to President Uhuru Kenyatta's rant on Sunday where he openly fired shots at a section of his Jubilee Party members allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, Cheruiyot, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, criticized Uhuru's actions terming his anger as a wrong reaction from a leader.
"Losing your cool as a leader is not an option and I don’t encourage any of my colleagues to do it," Cheruiyot said.
He, however, noted that he doubts whether the remarks were in any way aimed at Ruto, adding that the DP respects the Head of State.
"I don’t think there is any other deputy who respects his boss like the DP respects the President," he added.
During his rant on Sunday, Uhuru never directly addressed his deputy but instead fired shots at MPs who he argued owe him their election victory.
He read riot act to some Jubilee leaders who he claimed have been insulting and disrespecting him at rallies.
